Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business activities.

Ballyhoo is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business activities. As a small team, we recognise our responsibility to be alert to risks, however small, and to ensure that our supply chains are free from exploitation. This statement represents our ongoing commitment and is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains effective.

Our Structure and Supply Chain

This statement covers the activities of Ballyhoo. We operate as a dedicated team of five based in Birmingham, UK, primarily focused on web design, development, and digital marketing.

Given our size, our supply chain is relatively short and consists primarily of:

  • Software and technology providers.
  • Office equipment and utility suppliers.
  • Professional service providers and occasional freelancers.

We believe the risk of modern slavery within our immediate business is low, but we remain vigilant when engaging with new partners and suppliers.

Our Commitment

Ballyhoo maintains a culture of transparency and ethics. Our commitment is supported by the following principles:

  • Whistleblowing: All team members are encouraged to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any parts of our business or supply chains at the earliest possible stage without fear of reprisal.
  • Ethical Conduct: We expect all employees and contractors to act with integrity and to treat everyone with dignity and respect.
  • Direct Oversight: Given our size, the Directors have direct visibility over all operations and are responsible for ensuring these values are upheld.

Due Diligence & Risk Management

To ensure our “evergreen” approach to risk management, Ballyhoo commits to the following:

  • Supplier Selection: When onboarding new suppliers, we consider their reputation and, where appropriate, review their own ethical policies or public statements.
  • Open Communication: We maintain open lines of communication with our suppliers to ensure they understand our expectations regarding fair labor practices.
  • Annual Check-in: Once a year, the team reviews our supplier list to discuss any potential risks and to update our practices if the business landscape changes.

Training and Awareness

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks, all Ballyhoo team members are briefed on the signs of modern slavery and how to report concerns as part of their initial induction and through ongoing team briefings.

Approval and Review

This statement is endorsed by the leadership of Ballyhoo and will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant to our business size and activities.
