Setting Up Your Gmail Google Account in Outlook

Did you know that you can add your Gmail account to Microsoft Outlook, to view and manage your emails in one place? This allows you to streamline your workflow, and removes the need for switching between different apps. We would always recommend using Gmail in your browser for your emails, to ensure that you benefit from all of the Google Workspace features and tools; however, if you are acquainted with Outlook, then the instructions below may be helpful.

Instructions on How To Set Up Gmail in Outlook

  1. Download Workspace Sync and install
  2. Run ‘Set a Google Workspace sync’ (start and search)
  3. Log in using your Google details
  4. Switch back to the sync app
  5. Click ‘create profile’
  6. Click ‘Start Outlook’
  7. Profile name > options > set default > untick prompt (if multiple accounts in Outlook, best to set default and no prompt)
  8. Done! A dialogue will appear for syncing
