Celebrating 5 Years in Business!

Company | |

On May 26th 2014 Ballyhoo celebrated a big business milestone. Yep, we’ve been around for 5 whole years. Where has all the time gone??

Before Ballyhoo

Long before Anthony Chaffey incorporated Ballyhoo he was co-director at a small web design company called Web Media Works, based in Swansea. Things were going well but the long and short of it is that the team decided to go their separate ways – one director went to work for the family business, one became a freelance graphic designer and Anthony became self-employed, providing ongoing support to clients of Web Media Works and building his own base of new clients too. Fast forward one year and Anthony decided to make things a bit more official by creating Ballyhoo Ltd.

5 years of hard work

From humble beginnings in the spare room, Ballyhoo has grown to become an established web design firm with clients across the UK and further afield. Our client base consists of everything from local one-man bands to international companies with global recognition.

We have a fantastic, modern office in Longbridge, Birmingham that we love inviting clients to visit and we have a team of five web professionals who are excellent at their jobs. Yes, there have been lows along with the highs but so far everything has fallen nicely into the place and the tough times have taught us valuable lessons about business.

Celebrating in style

We couldn’t let this milestone pass without recognition so in early June we took the whole team for a night out in Birmingham. Luckily, there’s a train station only 5 minutes walk from our office so after work we hopped on the train to Birmingham New Street then made our way to the Mailbox, Birmingham’s premier shopping and dining destination.

With the World Cup fast approaching we thought it was apt to visit Rodizio Rico, a new Brazilian restaurant located at the bottom of the Cube. After our visit we definitely recommend it! Waiting staff bring large skewers of traditionally barbequed meats to your table where they cut off delicious slivers just for you – so you know it’s fresh! You can have as much or as little meat as you like, including sirloin steak, BBQ chicken wings, garlic sausage, minted lamb and more, as well as help yourself from the fresh salad bar. We especially loved the decor of the restaurant (which was reassuringly full) and our table overlooked the sunny Birmingham canal and Mailbox complex.

To complete a great night, we headed just a few streets away to Brewdog which boasts a huge range of craft beers and cider.

Thank you

Of course, we wouldn’t be where we are without our wonderful clients. You’ve given us projects to get our teeth into, been open to our ideas and we can’t wait to work with you all again in the future. Thank you for helping us get this far!
