Our wonderful team is made up of skilled website developers and marketers who are industry leaders, but they are more than just their jobs – they are people. Humans with interests, passions, pasts and dreams. Which is why we think it’s important to appreciate our team for who they are as people and outside of work! Here’s a little insight into who the Ballyhoo team are, and what makes them unique.
Time Flies When You’re Having Fun
Did you know that before Alison designed websites, she studied to be a watchmaker? In a world where digital rules, you may be surprised to know that many watches are still made entirely by hand. Alison studied Horology at Birmingham’s School of Jewellery, as well as interning at Rolex, where she learned how watches work, and how to repair them.
Whilst Alison ironically doesn’t have much spare time to dedicate to timepieces, she still holds the passion close to her heart, and may delve back into the watchmaking world in the next few years as a hobby.
Serenading the Team
Although Sam doesn’t quite serenade us in the office, he is a member of a band! Sam has played guitar for over 25 years and his band has performed many gigs around the local area. He’s passionate about rock in particular, and has attended many concerts and festivals with Anthony and Alison over the years.
You may see his guitars in the background of video calls – we’re particularly fond of his pink one!
Speeding Around
When he’s not helping you accelerate your business, he’s accelerating in a go kart. You heard it here first – Anthony is our resident speed go-getter, and sporting his own helmet and gloves, you may mistake him for a professional. Anthony first adorned the kit a year ago, and has since been attending go kart sessions regularly with friends. It’s a great way to let off steam and let the world melt away, perfect for reducing stress.
Whilst he might just enjoy it for fun at the moment, we wouldn’t be surprised if we saw him in the next Olympics – perhaps like skateboarding, go karting might be a new sport added? Anthony can dream!
Enjoying Slow Craft
When Rebecca isn’t forcing encouraging the team to make TikTok videos, she’s at home crafting and creating, specifically sewing. Rebecca is a hand embroidery artist, and is a big advocate for slowing down and enjoying the little things in life, and this craft is the perfect way to do so.
Plus, there’s often office conversations between her and Alison (knitting extraordinaire) about their latest Hobbycraft finds!
Not Just a Website Whizz
Our back-end website developer James enjoys spending time tinkering on his computer – but not just for work – he’s also into playing computer games. He finds that it gives him a way to delve into an internet world, which is a great way to decompress, and often plays with friends online too.
