Google Workspace Shutting Down Jamboard

Google | |

Google will start to shut down Jamboard in 2024. In its place, Google will be offering integrations with other third-party whiteboard tools such as FigJam, Lucidspark and Miro.

From 1st October 2024, Jamboard users will no longer have the ability to create new or edit existing Jams. You will only have the ability to back-up your Jam files, with Jamboard then officially shutting down on 31st December 2024.

What is Jamboard?

Google Jamboard is a whiteboard app, intended for education and work purposes, allowing users to collaborate together in real time and share ideas. Ultimately, it’s a digital whiteboard.

Users can currently access Jamboard via Google Drive and on the physical hardware, however these will both be shutting down next year.

Action Required

From 31st December 2024, the Jamboard application will no longer run and users will not have access to Jam files. In the months leading up to this, Google will provide users with clear paths on how to retain Jamboard data or migrate to FigJam.

In the meantime, it may be useful to have a look at other whiteboard app alternatives that you may want to trial and move to before Jamboard closes for good.
