Earlier this year on October 25th Ballyhoo were proud to provide sponsorship for the inaugural Longbridge Light Festival, a new event aimed at inspiring the local community and celebrating the rich history and future of Longbridge, Birmingham.
Since the early 2000s, Longbridge has been recovering from the demise of MG Rover – once the region’s largest manufacturing plant and employer to over 25,000 people at its peak.
Now though, regeneration of the area has been put into overdrive by St Modwen (our landlord at the Innovation Centre in Longbridge Technology Park). The Light Festival was conceived of to celebrate this and tempt more people from the wider Midlands to come and see what’s now on offer at Longbridge, including the multi-million pound Austin Park, the imposing Bournville College and a wide range of new eateries.
This year’s Longbridge Light Festival theme was “Back to the Future”, designed to be both a retrospective of the rich history of Longbridge as well as a hopeful look to the future and the people who will help to make Longbridge great once again.
Ballyhoo is proud to be part of the new Longbridge community, we hope to continue to thrive here and contribute as much as we can. And we certainly hope that we’ll be enjoying light festivals here for many years to come.
