We built a sleek website for NFSS with a custom booking system, to allow customers to easily book fire risk assessments online.
Project Overview
We already had a working relationship with NFSS, having created their fire risk assessment app and customer portal a couple of years ago, but the business decided that they needed a new website, focusing on online booking. Their old site was outdated, so we built a custom WordPress CMS system with a slick design, allowing customers to gain insightful information that directed them to the booking system to book assessments online.
Who are National Fire Safety Service?
National Fire Safety Services (NFSS) are certified fire risk assessors, who perform fire safety risk assessments across the nation, helping to keep buildings safe for use. Their in-depth audits allow them to access fire escapes, alarms, lighting and more, to produce reports for clients to identify what they need to change or update to make their building safer.
Project Brief
After NFSS invested in their new business portal, they then decided to invest in a new website and booking system. This project needed to include:
- An attractive website with a focus on encouraging customers to book online
- Custom online booking system focusing on ease of use
Our Proposal
Therefore, our proposal took into account the website build and booking system development, which would include:
- Create a custom, sleek website that provided prospective customers with the relevant information that they needed and strong CTAs to encourage them to book online
- Custom booking system that was easy to use and in line with the brand
Look & Feel
Using the brand’s current logo, we formalised the brand identity to create brand guidelines. This allows both us and NFSS to refer to the guide to ensure that their brand is consistent across all media.
The website incorporates the logo and brand colours – using pops of red for CTAs and important information. The website needed to be slick to draw users attention to the online booking functionality, so we used a white background to make it look modern and professional.
UI Design
A WordPress website was created with a custom theme to focus on guiding users through from landing pages to complete the online booking process. Therefore, the website includes clear CTAs and buttons, as well as FAQs and useful information to help users navigate the site.
The Technical Details
Online Booking System
Within the website, we built a custom online booking system, allowing users to book assessments online. This needed to be seamless for the user journey, to allow users to easily input their details and book online.
Customers are first guided through a series of questions to capture their requirements, with a logic-driven calculator presenting them with a total cost. Upon acceptance, the system then allows the user to enter their postcode and select their preferred date and time from a live availability calendar before proceeding to a checkout process with secure payments powered by Stripe.
In the back-end, NFSS receives a new order with assessor itineraries automatically planned with one booking per morning and afternoon for each assessor. Assessors can then manually book in more assessments around this time.
