Birmingham Literature Festival 2025

The annual Birmingham Literature Festival, now in its 26th year, is a diverse event that attracts thousands of visitors nationwide. Over nine days, the festival hosts more than 40 events, workshops, and experiences, bringing together readers, writers, and thinkers to celebrate books and the power of words.

Herbert’s Yard Closeup Comedy
15th October
South Birmingham’s biggest and longest running monthly comedy night, which takes place at the famous Herbert’s Yard in Longbridge. This months session includes features from Rachel Fairburn, Matt Bragg and Nick Doody.
Black is the Color of my Voice Show
15 – 16th October
Apphia Campbell’s play returns to The Rep, telling the story of a successful singer and civil rights activist who seeks redemption after her father’s untimely death. The narrative follows her journey from a young piano prodigy, initially destined for a life in the church, to a renowned jazz vocalist who becomes a prominent figure in the Civil Rights Movement.

Spider’s Tangle Trail – Birmingham Botanical Gardens

The Spider’s Tangle Trail allows you to explore a variety of the UK’s web types – ideal for children aged 4-11. A great event for a softer side of spooky season.

The Creative Craft Show is back with festive crafts, workshops, and access to the Sewing for Pleasure Winter Show. Find new supplies and festive ideas for knitting, cross-stitch, papercrafting, jewellery, dressmaking, and stitching.
