Best Ways to Embed Reels and TikTok Videos to Your WordPress Website

Social Media News | |

With the rise of TikTok and Instagram Reels, video is taking over the marketing landscape, but video shouldn’t be limited to these platforms – your content should be shared on your website too! We’ve already discussed ways to embed YouTube videos on your website, but below are ways to embed Instagram Reels & TikTok videos to your WordPress website.

Why Embed Videos?

Your website should have accessible and helpful content; giving customers information that they need will make them feel comfortable with going ahead and purchasing your products or services, leading to increased conversions.

Video content ideas to embed on your website:

  • User Generated Content – showcase unboxing and review videos from your customers to build trust and brand visibility
  • Behind the scenes – help to build human connection by showing the team or yourself behind the business
  • Showcase products & services – build trust and authority

Embedding them on your website also saves disk space, compared to saving and uploading the actual video content. Therefore, you get to showcase video content whilst still benefiting from a fast loading website.

What’s more, you’re probably pouring hours of time into creating content on your social platforms, and it is a shame to only post this once. By embedding content on your website, it increases its lifespan and allows you to reap the rewards of creating content.

Embedding Social Feeds

Today’s post focuses on how to embed individual videos/posts – for example to add content to a blog or showcase specific content for a specific topic. To embed your whole feed, you will need to use a WordPress plugin such as WP TikTok Feed.

How to Embed TikTok Videos to Your Website

TikTok Block

WordPress has now built a block that allows you to easily embed TikTok videos at a click of a button. To do this:

  1. On your WordPress page or post, click the ‘+’ button and search for the TikTok block
  2. Insert this block
  3. On your TikTok post, click the ‘copy link’ button
  4. Copy link
  5. Back in WordPress, paste this link in the block
  6. Press preview to see what it will look like on the front-end

You can also use the TikTok block to add links to your videos on Widgets (under Appearance > Widgets)

It’s worth noting that TikTok videos will auto-play when users are on the page/post.

How to Embed Instagram Reels

HTML Block

Unfortunately, WordPress does not currently have an Instagram block – unlike TikTok – but it does have the traditional HTML block. Like TikTok, you can copy the exact embed code from your Instagram Reel post, and paste into your WordPress website:

  1. On your WordPress page or post, click the ‘+’ button and search for the HTML block
  2. Insert this block
  3. On your Instagram Reel post, click the three dots and then ‘Embed Code’
  4. Copy code
  5. Back in WordPress, paste this code in the HTML block
  6. Press preview to see what it will look like on the front-end

Instagram Reels will not auto-play on the page or post, they require users to manually click the play button.

A Conclusion

Cross platform content allows you to promote consistent messaging and in the long run saves you time. If you’re looking to up your TikTok and Instagram game, make sure to add captions to your videos to make them accessible.
