Qualifying Google Workspace Business, Enterprise, and Frontline subscriptions will have access to the Gemini app and Google Vids by the end of this year, allowing you to utilise the power of AI for your business.
Google Gemini
The Gemini app, previously named Bard, is an AI-powered assistant that improves productivity and creativity in your work. The machine learning model has been trained on multimodal data, meaning it reads and observes words and information on the internet, picking up patterns and replying to your inputs and questions. The more you use Gemini, the more that it can learn from your responses and feedback, to provide you with even better results.
Gemini AI can help you with writing, learning, design, streamlining tasks, creating presentations and more, and is integrated into Gmail, Docs and Sheets – helping you to write content, whilst also being able to find and summarise existing information in your Docs and Drive.
For example, you can ask Google Gemini to create concise emails in your tone of voice, to help save time creating and writing emails. In Google Docs you could input ‘create a blog post about AI and marketing’, and Gemini will come up with a summary to help you, allowing you to take a blank page and turn it into a first draft. Additionally, Gemini can also respond with real-time info from YouTube and Google Maps.
By utilising Google Gemini, you can save time and deliver high quality work, and with 75% of Gemini for Workspace users saying it improves the quality of their work, it is a tool that can and should be used.
Gemini Privacy
Access to Gemini includes enterprise-grade data protections. What’s more, the AI tool does not use your organisation’s data or generated responses to train or improve Gemini, giving you peace of mind.
Google Vids
Customers will also have access to Google Vids – an AI-powered video creation app. Google Vids allows you to create, write, produce, and edit your videos – essential for modern day marketing tactics.
Google Vids includes handy tools, allowing you to:
- Choose from a range of templates
- Use the “Help me create” function to automatically create a first video draft
- Upload clips from Google Drive
- Utilise Google Vids stock content library
- Collaborate and share videos with others
Access to Gemini and Google Vids
Currently, to use Gemini and Google Vids, you need to purchase an add-on to your Workspace account. However, all qualifying customers on a Business, Enterprise, and Frontline Workspace plan will have access to the standalone Gemini app by the end of December 2024. No action is needed to obtain this access, as it will be automatically rolled out by Google in the coming months.
AI Best Practices
As with all AI, Gemini isn’t always right, and that’s why it’ll include sources in its responses. We’d always recommend that you fact check these sources. We’d also advise that any content you use AI to create, for example a blog post on your website, is re-written after using AI. This is due to copyright issues, as Gemini may have simply regurgitated data from another website.
