With a bank holiday and the weather (hopefully) warming up, June is going to be a busy one in Birmingham and Longbridge. Here’s a round-up of the best events to go to this month.

Jubilee Celebrations

There’s a variety of celebrations happening during the Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. Check your local area to see the individual events and street parties happening near you.

Black British Book Festival

The Black British Book Festival is a day-long book festival taking place on Saturday 4th June, designed to celebrate black authors across all genres​ of literature.The festival includes a children’s zone, free book giveaways, Pan Macmillan zone, Workshops, and Black Book Marketplace, making it a perfect day out for all of the family.

Be Festival

Running 3rd – 11th June, Birmingham European Festival of Performing Arts challenges theatre, crossing borders and creating disciplines and blurring boundaries between audiences and artists. The festival includes multiple performances and shows, meaning there’s something for everyone.

B-SIDE Hip-Hop Festival

Birmingham Hippodrome is partnering with Bullring & Grand Central to bring the hip-hop festival of the year. Running 11th – 19th June, the festival includes workshops, battles and shows.

Birmingham Indian Film Festival

Europe’s largest South Asian film festival is coming to Birmingham this month, running 17th June 2022 – 4th July 2022. The festival celebrates independent films with insights into South Asian lives.

Birmingham Design Festival

The ever-popular Birmingham Design Festival is returning this month, celebrating the local, national and international design industry.

Running 9th-11th June 2022, Birmingham Design Festival is a great opportunity for like-minded people to gather and share ideas and knowledge. With over 100 events and 60 speakers in venues across Birmingham, there’s something for everyone.
